South Carolina Legal Resources
General Resources
- South Carolina

On behalf of the Citizens of South Carolina, welcome to the South Carolina State Government World Wide Web
(WWW) server. This service provides access to many resources of state agencies in South Carolina. This page is the
entry point into information provided by state agencies and related projects. The State of South Carolina joins the
Information Highway in creating an opportunity for citizens to communicate and access information electronically and
participate in their state government. We are proud to be able to enhance communication among our citizenry and serve
as a catalyst for empowering citizens to interact with their state government.
- South Carolina State Library

The South Carolina State Library provides library services to all South Carolina citizens through the public libraries in
each county. Currently available at this site are access to our online databases, a reference room, and a directory of public libraries.
Future developments will include a searchable directory of South Carolina special and academic libraries; a list of the SCSL's publications; and an overview of the SCSL's organization, history and staff.
- Archaeology and Anthropology
The South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology (SCIAA) was established in 1963 as a University of
South Carolina research institute and a State cultural resource management agency. As the latter, it serves as the main
State agency concerned with South Carolina's Prehistoric and Historic Archaeology, and its discovery, study, revelation,
and official safekeeping at a curatorial facility. As a University research institute, SCIAA initiates and conducts a broad
range of field research and collections research throughout the State, participates in a very wide range of USC activities
and duties, and contributes to the University infrastructure, and the USC publication series.
