Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment is considered a form of sex discrimination under Title VII. Sexual harassment can take many forms including, as described under federal law, "unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, …or verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature…[that creates] an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment."

Courts have drawn a distinction between two types of sexual harassment: quid pro quo harassment - promising a reward for sexual favors and hostile work environment harassment that is oftentimes the result of co-worker conduct.
